Abdominoplasty

With age, weight loss and after pregnancies, the skin and abdominal muscles lose their elasticity. To enjoy a firm and flat belly again, a plastic surgeon may recommend abdominoplasty.

The goal of the operation is to remove excess skin and adipose tissue from middle and lower parts of abdomen.

During the operation, it is often necessary to suck up excess fat and strengthen the abdominal wall muscles. Questions such as: what type of abdominoplasty surgery will be performed, is there a need to strengthen abdominal muscles, are answered during consultations with the patient. The effect of the treatment: flattened and properly tight belly.

What does the procedure look like?

The operations are carried out under general anesthesia and last approximately 3 hours. Surgical cuts are located around the navel and at the bottom of the abdomen, sometimes a vertical cut is necessary that  connects the navel to the transverse cut. Most often an anchor-shaped cut is made, which extends from one illiac crest to the other. Abdominal coatings are detached all the way up to the lower ribs, excess fat tissue is cut out, and a new place is created for the navel. Sometimes only the correction of the lower abdomen (below the navel) is enough. The treatment in some cases can be combined with liposuction (large saggy belly with fat tissue)
