- curved nasal septum,
- hypertrophy and edema of nasal turbinates,
- nasal polyps.
Nasal septum deviation
Nasal septum separates the nasal cavity into two parts. The deviation of the septum may cause symptoms such as: difficulty in breathing, nostrils obstruction that increases at night, sleep apnea, snoring, repetitive sneezing.
Septoplasty is the correction of the deviated nasal septum. Under general or local anesthesia surgeon makes an incision in the lining of the septum to reach the cartilage/bone targeted in the operation. After the septum is straightened, it may then be stabilized temporarily with small plastic tubes, splints, or sutures internally.
Turbinectomy
Correction of overgrown nasal turbinates, is successfully performed with the bipolar thermoablation of the Celon apparatus. The procedure is usually carried out under local anesthesia. After puncturing the nasal turbinates in one place, a special tip is inserted between the bone skeleton and the mucous membrane and left for a few seconds. The whole procedure lasts from 10 to 20 minutes and does not require hospitalization. Return to work is immediate.
Nasal polyps
Nasal polyps are mild hypertrophy of the mucous membrane that grow into the nasal cavity, blocking the air flow over time.
At Dom Lekarski Medical Center we perform polypectomy, which serves to remove the polyps as well as the surrounding inflamed mucosa, open obstructed nasal passages, and clear the sinuses
