What is the correction of ear auricle?

Ear correction or ear surgery involves changing the angle between the ear and the skull. In simple terms, this is correcting the problem of protruding ears. The purpose of the operation is to arrange the auricle cartilages so that they give the effect of naturally adjacent ears. The treatment may also include reduction or reconstruction of the ear.

Before the surgery

Before the surgery, make an appointment for a surgical consultation during which the scope of the procedure will be discussed. Patients often ask for the possibility of consulting on the basis of photos sent electronically – unfortunately, the actual and detailed scope of the procedure is possible to determine only during a personal consultation. Initially, photos can help diagnose the problem, but they will not qualify for a specific procedure. An individual consultation also provides a case-by-case discussion and will provide answers to patient questions bothering you.

One week before the procedure, it is recommended not to take medicine that thins the blood (eg Aspirin,  etc.). You should also not consume alcohol and smoke cigarettes, because it may increase the risk of various types of complications (eg bleeding, prolonged wound healing time, appearance of infection)

After treatment

Usually after two or three days of the procedure, the clinic performs a check and removes the bandages. After about 10-14 days, the stitches are removed. For a few weeks after the treatment, extreme care should be taken to ensure that the ears are not exposed to injuries or frostbite. It is therefore recommended that the ears can be protected as often as possible.
